The Aims of Time Together Day

This is an inclusive day for people of all ages:

  • To raise the profile of the issues surrounding suicide
  • To proactively do something to raise awareness and focus on prevention of suicide of people of all ages
  • To increase people’s confidence and knowledge about suicide prevention
  • To reduce the stigma surrounding suicide
  • To encourage empathy and kindness to all those we come into contact with

Everyone is encouraged to share what they are doing on social media with the hashtag #TimeTogetherDay #suicideprevention #mentalhealth

With thanks to the following Organisations getting involved:

How to Get Involved

  • A call to all Schools across the Country to do something that focuses on Mental Health, in particular suicide prevention. This could be activities that support mental health including workshops, assemblies, guest speakers etc
  • A call to all clubs and groups e.g. football clubs, guides, WI, young carers to take some time on that day to consider mental health and suicide prevention. Taking the Zero Suicide Alliance online training (20 minutes)  would be encouraged. Other ideas include, guest speakers, shared lunches etc
  • A call to all businesses to do the same, perhaps a shared lunch with a speaker, a mindful activity, Taking the Zero Suicide Alliance training etc
  • To reach out to people to get together and arrange something with family and friends
